Eaton Corporation EHS Manager in Raleigh, North Carolina

Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking an EHS Manager. This position is based in Raleigh, NC and will support our Raleigh Plant Operations.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105,000 - $154,000 a year.

What you’ll do:

As the EHS Manager you will direct environmental, health, safety, and security leadership to the related support operations for the Raleigh Plant Operations (RPO) facility, with responsibility for supporting about 200 employees. This role will also be the owner of the MESH program for RPO and will have 1 direct report.

This role is accountable for: directing EHS activities at the location, establishing EHS objectives and targets; internal reporting of EHS performance; communication of national, area, and local regulatory requirements, and; ensuring documents are available in the local languages. This role is responsible for: maintaining site ISO/OHSAS certifications; assuring accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics; assuring closure of MESH and regulatory agency findings on a timely basis; completion of required training for EHS personnel; managing interfaces with the public and governmental authorities with adverse findings and enforcement actions; directing actions during crises; site security, creating a strong EHS culture that engages employees throughout the site in EHS teams and processes

In this role you will:

  • Manage and direct site in achieving EHS targets & objectives.

  • Direct development, maintenance, and achievement of goals in support of corporate and business group EHS strategic initiatives.

  • Facilitate risk assessment at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects.

  • Work with leadership team to create targets and objectives based on key EHS risks.

  • Determine appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track performance against targets and objectives.

  • Support creation of EHS goals for the site manager and appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, functional managers, and front-line supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results.

  • Work to assign MESH element champions and facilitate their engagement in ownership of the MESH elements.

  • Drive and promote zero incident EHS culture throughout site.

  • Create and facilitate EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.

  • Work with leadership team and MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations.

  • Pursue third party recognition for programs that establish the site and Eaton’s EHS program as world class.

  • Use established EHS data processes such as MESH PRISM to manage data such as injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items and other pertinent information.

  • Create training matrices to ensure that all training is defined and tracked to completion

  • Work with site leadership team and facilities to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution

  • Minimum 3 years professional experience in management of EHS processes and/or facility management

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in ISO certified Manufacturing assembly environment.

  • Experience with electrical safety hazards and programs

  • Experience with three phase utility and energy management systems.

  • Experience with managing maintenance teams at multiple facilities.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing

  • AutoCAD

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Professional certification recommended (Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or Certified Fire Protection Specialist)
