Citigroup Vice President, Corporate Insurance Officer (Hybrid) in Queens, New York

The Corporate Insurance Officer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in protecting Citi's assets and continuity of business from fortuitous loss, through risk analysis/financing, placement and administration of property/casualty insurance programs, captive insurance company management.

  • Participates in overall program management of assigned property/casualty programs with focus on Global Property/Terrorism and Financial Institutions Blanket Bond.

  • Contributes to insurance claims management, loss engineering and risk control.

  • Responsible for providing support across the entire firm or to multiple business lines / areas. Individuals who primarily support a specific business should be matched accordingly.

  • Develops and exercises business plans, policies and procedures and may also be responsible for various projects to improve efficiencies. Individual at this level has a clear understanding of the firm's different businesses and the related economics.

  • Manages overall data management and analysis of Global Property values globally in support of the annual underwriting submission.

  • Supports Global Property claims management process including maintenance of the monthly register.

  • Provides property/casualty insurance risk management advisory support to Citi businesses and/or assist with other risk management initiatives and/or projects as necessary.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • CPCU and/or ARM designations a plus

  • 6-10 years insurance experience (e.g. carrier, broker, corporate insurance)

  • Demonstrated strong analytical and data management skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$129,840.00 - $194,760.00
