Key Manager Behaviors:

  1. Motivated - Leaders set the tone for their team's morale. Being a motivational leader means showing enthusiasm for the company's future. It also means setting the vision for the company and getting team members equally excited about what's to come

  2. Influential - An effective leader must exhibit high-influence behaviors that have an effect on the character, beliefs, actions, and development of their team. With words and examples, leaders set the tone for how projects are executed and have the power to change direction if need be

  3. Empowerment - Leaders who empower their team give responsibility to their team through delegation to get specific things done. Empowerment allows employees to take initiative and make decisions to improve service and performance

  4. Commitment - Committed leaders willingly give their time and energy to the business, team, cause, or activity they are involved with. Their 'all in' approach is infectious for those around them and often results in higher trust from team members

  5. Accountable for oneself and others - Accountability doesn't just mean holding someone else to task for their behaviors -it also means holding yourself accountable. No leader is perfect, and part of establishing trust with your team is taking responsibility for your own shortcomings. Leaders that demonstrate accountability are willing and able to hold someone to task for their behaviors and their actions. Lack of team accountability results in objectives and tasks being delayed, trust in team members eroding and the standing of your team diminished. A leader that holds the team to account achieves more and is more likely to be respected

  6. Proactive - Proactive leadership means taking the time to plan, improve your team's processes, and put initiatives in place to prevent problems before they arise. As a proactive leader, you should identify areas of risk for your team and work to minimize negative impacts or remove them altogether before issues pop up
