We are looking for Data Warehouse Database Administrator or Oracle Data Integration Middleware DBA to join our Business Intelligence Solutions Team to support the development and maintenance of our Oracle DW/BI application.

Role: Data Warehouse/Middleware Database Administrator

Experience/ Career level: 2 to 10 Years of experience (career level – 3/4)

Job Overview:

Data Warehouse DBA or BI DBA supports development and maintenance of our Oracle Data warehouse databases and BI application environments. This role requires overall understanding of Data warehouse and BI applications architecture and working knowledge of Oracle Database, Middleware and Oracle Analytics Server (OAS)/ Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC).

DBA is mainly responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining DW/BI environments, also include ensuring data security, tuning performance, implement DB backup/recovery strategies, planning storage capacity for scalable database growth, implement high availability, keep system up to date by quarterly patching / upgrades.

Another important task of BI DBA is support ETL processing, which includes monitoring ETL jobs, troubleshooting issues, automating error handling, and optimizing the processes for better performance and support the BI Developers to develop and enhance the ETL and query processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and support all different components of Oracle Business Intelligence Applications (OBIA), Oracle Analytics Server (OAS), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Essbase, Weblogic Servers and related Oracle Databases.

• Oracle Databases Monitoring, Tuning, Patching, Cloning, Upgrade, Backup/recovery and DR/Standby maintenance.

• Upgrade and apply Oracle Patch Set Updates for OAS, ODI, OBIA, OEM, Essbase and all integrated components on a regular basis.

• Manage/Administer Backup, Restore and Disaster Recovery policies and procedures for DW/BI systems

• Administer cloning procedures for dev/test DW/BI Systems

• Configure and support ETL processes and SQL queries

• Monitor performance and tune OAS and OBIA components. Develop processes for reporting on platform’s utilization, availability and performance.

• Develop support scripts for OBIEE/OBIA products using Linux shell scripts, WLST, WLDF, PLSQL

• Provide on-call ETL support - investigate ETL Process failures and/or OAS application servers, remediate known issues and apply workarounds based on supporting on-call documentation

• Work on stabilizing overall Stantec DW/BI environment, setup monitoring and reporting as required, keep system up-to-date by patching/upgrade, performance analysis and tuning as and when required

• Document DBA processes and procedures

Additional Duties:

• Collaboration with different teams or groups within IT as and when required - Development team, Unix, Project Management, EBS/Middleware DBA, Network team etc.

• Follow Change Management process, regularly share updates with different teams via email/Jira/meetings

• Follow Oracle Standards, Coding standards, time-to-time review DB/Application security and extend support to different teams to implement the same.

Qualifications:

• College diploma or university degree in computer systems design or computer science, and/or 3+ years in depth experience with infrastructure operations d and database technologies

• Minimum of 2/3 years experience providing Oracle Data Warehouse database administration, support using Oracle Data Integrator is preferable

• Experience with any Unix/RHEL is mandatory

• Experience in Oracle WLST is mandatory

• Familiarity with OAM/OID and Oracle SSO are definite assets

• Experience with partitioning, materialized views and parallel execution is considered desirable

• Experience with WebLogic Diagnostic Image Framework (WLDF) is nice to have

• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager will be considered an asset.
