Summary of Duties:
As an Admissions Counselor, you will recruit students from assigned region to enable Washington State University (WSU) to meet enrollment goals. You will work with the Director in the planning and implementation of a strategic recruitment plan. You will also coordinate recruitment efforts with other regional counselors, college recruiters, alumni, and Multicultural Student Services. Additionally, you will participate in the organization of special events such as: information nights, and others as assigned by the Director. You will participate in high school fairs, community college tours, national fairs, career nights, and community college pre-advising. You will establish and maintain relationships/contacts with high school and community college counselors, teachers, other school administrators, local alumni and community. You will coordinate efforts with schools on targeted recruitment goals. Other duties as assigned by the Director.
Regional Admissions Counselor for Northern CA, Bay Area (Contra Costa, Alameda, Santa Clara, and Sacramento Counties)
Required Qualifications:
• Positions require a Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year of experience directly related to student services. A Master's degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
• Understanding of and a commitment to inclusion, access and diversity.
• Excellent presentation abilities, oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability in program planning.
• Demonstrated computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must have or be able to obtain at time of hire, a valid driver's license.
• Ability to travel, and work some weekends/evenings.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree.
• Experience working in education.
• Knowledge of student recruitment, college admissions, and WSU.
• Experience in Slate or other CRM technology.

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
