Provo City is seeking a part-time Social Media Marketing Assistant to assist with marketing outreach and communications at the Covey Center for the Arts. Qualified, civic-minded individuals interested in performing these theatrical services to Provo City’s residents are encouraged to apply.

What is the compensation?

$15.00 to $18.00 per hour (depending on experience)

What are the main duties?

  • Assist the Covey Center marketing specialist with a wide variety of communication, outreach, and public engagement strategies.

  • Assist in crafting engaging content and procuring photo and video assets that align with Provo City and Covey Center branding.

  • Assist with planning, coordination, maintenance, and management of official Covey Center social media platforms including the Covey Center website.

  • Respond to media requests.

  • Assist with researching, writing, and editing articles, emails, blog posts, and social media posts on a variety of topics.

  • Answer questions regarding area of responsibility.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

    What are the minimum qualifications?

  • One year experience managing social media accounts.

  • A valid, lawful Driver License.

  • Experience in social media management, event planning, communications, marketing, or public relations preferred.

    What is the schedule?

    16-20 hours a week. Actual hours will vary, including daytime hours and evening and weekend hours, as needed for content creation.

    This work requires This work requires extended periods at a computer. The position may also require contact with the public in challenging or uncomfortable circumstances.

    What is the selection process?

    Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on June 20, 2024 . Applicants must meet the minimum requirements listed below to be eligible for consideration. Prior to appointment, the applicant will be required to successfully pass a drug screening and background investigation. Non-disclosure will result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screening results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of 6 months.
