An Employer in Provo, UT is seeking to hire a Full-time Associate Director.

Job Summary

This position serves as the Associate Executive Director of the BYU Management Society (BYUMS). The BYUMS is a global organization that focuses on growing moral & ethical leadership and helping young professionals advance their careers. This position is a professional communicator who provides strategic and tactical support to BYUMS regions and chapters around the world by interacting with and coaching BYUMS chapter & regional leaders. This person executes plans related to events and activities that support and advance the mission, brand and influence of Brigham Young University. They are an integral part of the BYUMS Global Board. All essential functions (below) are augmented by providing meaningful and mentored experiences for student team members.

 

Essential Functions

Manage BYUMS Regions & Chapters program

  1. Serve as the primary contact for all chapter leaders
    1. Work directly and develop productive relationships with regional & chapter leaders
    2. Lead, train, and support regions & chapters around the world to ensure they are operating effectively and efficiently
      1. Includes onboarding of new chapter leaders
  2. Ensure regional & chapter events, branding, communications, objectives and goals are in alignment with BYU policies and BYU Management Society mission and values
  3. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of chapter activities 
  4. Manage the Chapter of Excellence program
  5. Recognize and celebrate chapter success
  6. Manage all national & international chapter & regional administration & provide operational support
    1. Oversee chapter budgets & finances, and run reports
    2. Manage the chapter scholarship program
    3. Provide remote volunteer support for BYUMS groups and chapters through phone calls, videoconferencing, and other regular forms of communications (e.g., social media, presentations, newsletters)
  7. Lead and develop student employee team

Lead HQ hosted events, initiatives, & strategic partnerships

  • Organize the annual fall chapter leader conference held at BYU
  • Manage various Business Plan Competition logistics & operations
    • Strategize how to maximize the value of these competitions around the world with BYU-Pathway students & graduates as our target participants
  • Help plan and host Regional Conferences
    • US & foreign travel required
  • Engage and leverage the strengths of the BYUMS Global Board 
  • Strengthen & optimize existing partnerships
    • BYU-Pathway Worldwide, BYU Alumni Association, Skep Foundation, etc.
  • Manage Special Projects

Manage the BYUMS website and other social media platforms

  • Ensure the website is functional and meets the needs of regions & chapters, with emphasis on user experience and marketing
  • Serve as the primary contact & liaison for the 3rd party website platform company representative assigned to the BYUMS
  • Guide region & chapter communications to be effective and within BYU guidelines
  • Keep the website current & highlight regional and chapter events happening around the world
  • Manage and be aware of our presence on social media platforms by our regions & chapters

     

Education/Experience

*Minimum education/experience required:  *Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of experience, preferably in business, public relations, or non-profit management.

Preferred: 10 years of experience or an equivalent combina tion of school & experience.

  • Sound judgment that consistently yields a positive image of the university and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
  • Program/event management knowledge and experience
  • Ability to identify ways to optimize and enhance organizati ns and events
  • Organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in motivating and supervising volunteers
  • Excellent oral and written and communication skills for a variety of audiences
  • Competent with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
