Job Description
Pay Rate $22.00 per hour

Task/Activity:
* Operate and inspect a variety of light and heavy-duty mowers/grounds equipment: push-type/self-propelled power mowers.
* Maintain grounds equipment in good operating condition. Report faulty equipment to supervisor.
* Remove snow/ice from sidewalks/patios/entrances/roads/parking lots. Construct and dismantle snow fence/road signs/markers. Operate light/heavy-duty snow removal equipment.
* Prepare ground for seedling by filling/hand-grading/raking. Properly spread seed.
* Maintain/construct flowerbeds by arranging plantings/mulching/fertilizing.
* Hardscaping; including paver work, retaining walls, etc.
* Maintain area drainage by keeping catch basins, parking lot storm drains, and runoffs clean and free from obstructions.
* Maintain property appearance and safety by removing undergrowth/weeds/paper/fallen limbs/leaves/other debris.
* Properly prune trees/shrubs and perform minor tree surgery.
* Maintain and construct nature trails/trail bridges/softball fields.
* Perform assigned projects/tasks by working in/under unpleasant/hazardous conditions: use of ladders/flooding/odors/heat/cold/mud/rain/snow/lifting up to 50 pounds. Require overtime in maintenance schedules/emergency situations. All snow personnel are on "on-call" status during the snow season.
* Maintain the general cleanliness/appearance of equipment/physical surroundings.


Education:
* A High School diploma/an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.

Work Experience:
* 1-2 years of grounds experience is requested.
* Front end/ backhoe loader, skid-steer and snowplow experience preferred
* General commercial maintenance experience/ comparable skills preferred
