Job Description:

GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Specialist to support our Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services (EMITS) program supporting U.S. Army Europe in Pila, Poland.

This assignment is an unaccompanied billet

The candidate will possess a logistics background and understand supply chain best practices and integrate into the Army and contractor procurement process.

HOW A LOGISTICS ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Receive, store, secure, inventory, pack, and issue material in support of customer requirements.

  • Operate material handling equipment to unload and load material from commercial and military transportation.

  • Work with local vendors to purchase supplies.

  • Maintains staff by orienting, and training new team members; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.

  • Have a strong knowledge in research, pricing development, data collection, analyzing and comparison.

  • Will assist with shipping and receiving parts and equipment sent to the facility.

  • Execute distribution support of material as needed. Distribution may include, but not limited to, bases within Poland and to and from Germany.

  • Coordinate shipments using commercial, government and organic transportation methods.

  • Administer logistical support and provided direction in areas of Procurement, Receiving, Identification, Records, Movement, Storage, Physical inventories, Reporting, Utilization, Asset management, demand management, and related functions.

  • Perform unpacking of shipment deliveries, preparing shipping documents, maintaining records of incoming and outgoing shipments, Consolidating shipping orders.

  • Receive, track, control, and document Government and Customer Property in accordance with Government regulations.

  • Assist with the refinement of internal operating processes, procedures and policies.

  • Create asset property record and maintains the asset records in the Asset Management database.

  • Assists in the physical inventory of Government and Customer assets and materials to ensure accuracy of property records and compliance with property procedures and contractual requirements.

  • Conduct 100% Quarterly Asset Inventory

  • Assist to identify excess and/or obsolete property assets. Coordinates with Government during the disposition process.

  • Candidate is required to perform other additional duties and assignments in support the Contract.

  • Supports customer logistics requirements through the analysis, organization, planning, and administration of various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, maintenance, and/or repair activities

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Security Clearance Required: Secret

  • Education: Bachelors degree plus, 2+years' experience; or AA/AS plus 4years' experience or High School Diploma and 6 years' experience

  • Certification: CompTIA Sec+; ITIL V4

  • Required Experience: This position will require the candidate to have at least 5-8 years of relevant, logistics experience,

  • Required Technical Skills: Microsoft application user and knowledge.

  • Required Skills and Abilities: Must be a self-motivated, self-starter; able to work under limited supervision; Physical capability to lift at least 50lbs unassisted; Must be able to drive a 2.5Ton commercial truck and operate 6k forklift; Good Communications and problem solving.
