Trauma Surgical Physician Assistant Opening – Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, NY

The Nuvance Health Medical Practice (NHMP) is seeking a board-certified full-time Trauma Surgical Physician Assistant to join its team at Vassar Brothers Medical Center (VBMC.)

Job Highlights :

• OR First Assisting – trauma surgical cases

• Rounding on post op trauma patients

• Comfortable with (or eager to learn) critical care procedures and running traumas

• Consults/Admissions

• Occasional outpatient work when needed

• Day position with willingness to rotate nights/weekends or night position is also available

• Flexible schedule – 12- or 24-hour shifts

Qualifications:

• The qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and be NCCPA certified as well as possess strong surgical and patient management experience.

• Candidates with at least one to three years of surgical experience and/or surgical residency trained candidates preferred, but new graduates will be considered with surgical rotation experience.

• ATLS Certification preferred
