Description

Dawoud Kazimee with Robert Half is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Portland, Oregon. The role involves managing balance sheet account reconciliations, preparing monthly journal entries, and ensuring accuracy and conformance to GAAP. The successful candidate will also participate in various financial projects, support the preparation of annual audits, and assist with other accounting functions as required.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP

• Ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly schedules for all revenue, expense, insurance, and investment account reconciliations

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of all revenue streams, including government grants and donations, and provide relevant analyses

• Prepare accounting schedules and gather information for auditors during the annual audit process

• Identify, research, and analyze account activities and variances

• Serve as a backup for other accounting functions such as cash receipts processing and review of weekly accounts payable processing

• Collaborate to support organization-wide and finance department process changes, internal projects, and workgroups

• Assist with adhoc finance projects as assigned

• Contribute to cross-departmental efforts, work culture activities and programming, advisory and consultative groups

• Engage in professional development activities to strengthen capacity for the role and contribute to organizational goals.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience working with accounting software demonstrating extensive understanding of advanced accounting functions necessary to support monthly and annual financial and management reporting.

• A degree in accounting/CPA designation. Relevant experience may be substituted for educational requirements.

• Curiosity, strong analytical and problem solving skills.

• High level of proficiency using Excel to analyze and present data.

• Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and applications.
