Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Portland, Oregon

Description

Robert Half is seeking a detailed and results-driven Payroll Specialist to assist with payroll processing for a large construction company. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience with payroll systems and a clear understanding of the construction industry's rules and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the company’s payroll functions, ensuring all payments are processed accurately and timely.

  • Maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, taxes, and other deductions.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

  • Analyze working hours, pay rates, deductions, and other payroll-related information.

  • Review and verify timesheets and respond to any payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies immediately.

  • Compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, non-taxable wages, and ensure the company’s annual budget forecasts align with payroll costs.

  • Prepare regular payroll reports for management as required, such as monthly costs and overtime analyses.

  • Cooperate with the HR department to ensure correct employee data.

  • Handle changes in exemptions, job status, and job titles.

Skills:

• Knowledge of Certified Payroll processes.

• Familiarity with Full Cycle Payroll operations.

• Experience handling Multi-state Payroll.

• Ability to manage Payroll for over 500 Employees.

• Experience with Payroll for Union members.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of payroll processing experience

  • Union payroll experience

  • Experience with prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting

  • Strong Excel skills
