Overview

Kimley-Horn's Portland, Oregon (OR) office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join their Transit team. This is an in-office role.

Responsibilities

• The selected candidate will contribute to the production and delivery of transit and rail projects with a particular focus on, but not limited to:

• Commuter Rail

• Heavy Rail Transit (HRT)

• Light Rail Transit (LRT) projects

• Various tasks may include corridor concept development, assistance in public outreach, and transit evaluation

• This role will require a high degree of multi-disciplinary coordination

• Strong communication and organizational skills are critical

Qualifications

• 2+ years of transit-focused engineering experience including:

• Transit corridor design experience with a focus on (but not limited to) rail modes

• Track, guideway, and facility design

• Bachelors or Masters from an ABET accredited university in the field of Civil Engineering

• "Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)

• Experience using Synchro, VISSIM, and/or other traffic analysis software applications

• Communicating technical thoughts clearly and concisely

• Excellent technical writing skillsDetail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment

• Ability to work independently and as a team
