HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT:

The Compensation Analyst performs analysis and assists with administration of the global compensation program. Responsible for conducting job evaluation and market analysis to maintain a competitive pay position compared to market and internal equity of positions. Deliver comprehensive global compensation program management, education, and counsel on salary administration issues to HR Team Members and all management levels of the organization. Additionally, this position is responsible for the administration of the defined contribution retirement plans and providing administrative support on benefit invoicing.

THE DETAILS:

  • Primary Task (80%) - Compensation

  • Reviews job descriptions and collaborates with HR partners and managers to gather job and organizational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.

  • Conducts job evaluation and market analysis on base pay and short-term incentive eligibility to provide recommendations on salary and bonus plan participation.

  • Benchmarks jobs against survey data to determine competitive compensation ranges and incentive eligibility, while maintaining internal equity of positions.

  • Works with management in developing the overall job architecture of each job function.

  • Recommends appropriate job titles.

  • Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt.

  • Prepares and maintains job classifications in the HR system. Audits HR system to ensure data quality of all compensation and job classification information.

  • Participates in external compensation surveys; researches and recommends which surveys will be most beneficial and cost effective.

  • Assists with tracking incentive eligibility and communication of incentive eligibility to participants.

  • Maintains salary structures. Conducts analysis and recommends annual salary structure adjustments.

  • Assists with managing the annual merit increase and bonus payout processes.

  • Develops and conducts formal and informal compensation training for HR, managers, and Team Members.

  • Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.

  • Evaluates and implements job analysis instruments and materials.

  • Conducts data and cost analyses of compensation information to be used in management decision making.

  • Continuously monitors new or changing laws and regulations that impact compensation.

  • Secondary Task (20%) - Benefits

  • Administers the defined contribution retirement plans for the organization; this includes the 401(k) and the non-qualified plans.

  • Accurately calculates the annual profit-sharing contribution, if approved, ensuring compliance with the plan.

  • Interacts with the retirement plan record-keeper, ERISA counsel, and investment management vendor, as needed.

  • Responsible for monthly healthcare allocations, providing necessary information to accounting in a timely manner.

    QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • CCP preferred.

  • 3 – 5 years of experience as a compensation analyst required.

  • Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional, and quality manner.

  • Solve problems analytically; search out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to data quality

  • Collaborative and effective team player, able to work with teams who are globally dispersed.

  • Demonstrate ability and willingness to learn; seek out development activities to improve skills and increase knowledge.

  • Take initiative, seek, and act on opportunities to improve efficiency and processes.

  • Moderate understanding of HR systems and report writing software, with the ability to create and run basic reports but also articulate more complex reporting needs.

  • Proficient in computerized office applications, with excellent database and spreadsheet (i.e. Excel) skills.

    For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Washington, Colorado, Nevada, California, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, Oregon Tool is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Oregon Tool, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000 to $90,000.
