Tire Handler

PeopleReady of Portland, ME is now hiring Tire Handlers. As a Tire Handler, you will maintains production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies to workers on assembly/production lines. Tire Handlers typically use RF Scan guns for inventory and pallet jacks to move material. The position also prepares finished stock for shipment.

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $21 / hour

What you'll be doing as a Tire Handler:

• Move materials in the plant as required

• Ensure parts and containers are placed at work stations as required

• Document incoming materials as required

• Complete required paperwork/labeling for shipments

• Empty trash for appropriate disposal

• Participate in activities to support environmental efforts

• Participate in activities to support continuous improvement

• Contribute in efforts to maintain a clean and safe work environment

• Monitor and contribute to continuous improvement

• Process hourly/daily paperwork as required

• Check fluid levels and change batteries using overhead crane

Available shifts:

Shift Timings - 1st Shift (Day)

Job requirements:

• Need an understanding of the Production Department

• Fork Truck license (will have to be certified – if not currently) -Pass written test and demonstrate safe operation of a powered industrial vehicle

• The ability to read and understand both written and verbal information

• Comply with the values and policies

• Use scale for weigh control purposes

• Use hand held scanner

• Be capable of working together as a team when needed

• Other duties as assigned by the Materials Manager/Supervision

• Valid Drivers License

• Background check and drug screening required
