Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Solutions (EESS) division is currently seeking a Solutions Engineer.

This position offers a Hybrid work schedule out of our Plymouth MN location.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

The Solutions Engineer is responsible for being an EESS demand response product expert and performing services to maximize customer solutions. Key responsibilities include designing and delivering solutions, training customers, and guiding them to meet their strategic business needs.

In this role, you will gain in-depth technical knowledge of Demand Response hardware and software solutions, enabling you to independently resolve customer issues and assist in testing related to specific concerns. This involves managing a fully operational demand response system for utilities that subscribe to this service level.

As a subject matter expert, you will guide the Professional Services team during product deployment, advise customers on grid automation strategies, and ensure the effective use of product features to maximize customer value. You will validate solutions with a zero-defect approach and train customers on the installation, operation, and maintenance of Eaton Demand Response solutions.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key to resolving complex issues while maintaining clear communication with customers through various channels. Continuous learning will be a priority to enhance your knowledge of Demand Response features and limitations, and you will contribute to knowledge base articles. Lastly, you will be accountable for achieving key performance indicator (KPI) targets.

What will make you successful?

In this role, you will need to understand energy automation solutions, especially in the demand response domain, and familiarize yourself with client/server infrastructure, internet systems architecture, and technology integration. This baseline will ensure you can apply business analysis methods and use related tools.

Your demonstrated abilities should include troubleshooting complex issues both independently and as part of a team, effectively communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences, managing customer deliveries with competing priorities, and training others on technical topics.

Additionally, you must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license and be willing to travel up to 25% for onsite services and support. Familiarity with Utility Demand Response equipment and practices, knowledge of Utility Business processes, experience in measurement and verification for Utility Demand Response Programs, and proficiency in software tools (e.g., CRM, ITSM) and service management practices (e.g., DevOps, ITIL).

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering, marketing, or technical support related to advanced metering infrastructure, demand response, distribution automation, and/or substation automation technologies.

  • Must be able to travel 25%

  • Only candidates currently reside TODAY within a 50-mile radius of Plymouth, MN Eaton location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with demand response technologies.
