Location: Pittsford, NY (Hybrid Position)

What does an Audit Specialist do?

At CNB, our Audit team is responsible for evaluating operational procedures, risk management, control functions and governance processes across the entire bank. The Audit function reports to the Audit and Risk Committee of the Board of Directors, the governing body responsible for oversight of Internal Audit.

As part of the Audit team, the Audit Specialist will help ensure that the business is free from unusual activities that increases risk to the bank. Working alongside the Chief Auditor and Audit Manager, this role will assist the department with creating and editing new and existing procedures, maintaining electronic files, preparing presentations, flowcharts, graphs and reports for the department and Audit and Risk Committee. The Audit Specialist will attend Audit and Risk Committee meetings, record the proceedings, and prepare minutes for review and approval.

The Audit Specialist will provide administrative support to the Audit team by scheduling meetings and appointments and making meeting room arrangements.

What competencies are needed to be successful in this role?

  • A bachelor’s degree. Equivalent work experience or associate degree will be considered.

  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with a PC and associated programs (such as Microsoft Office)

  • Analytical skills. Proficiency in interpreting, analyzing, and reporting information.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

What does a successful first year in this position look like?

  • Working alongside the Chief Auditor and Audit Manager to evaluate FDICIA and corporate controls across the entire organization.

  • Attend Audit and Risk Committee meetings, document proceedings, and prepare minutes for review and approval.

  • Gather and assemble data from divisional records, and other sources. Prepares reports.

  • Maintain electronic files and maintain confidentiality.

  • Assist with scheduling appointments and meetings.

  • Gain knowledge of applicable laws and regulations that affect the audit function of the bank.

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $20.00-$22.00 per hour. The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, and performance expectations.
