DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Senior Analyst - Asbestos
Intertek PSI, is searching for a Senior Analyst - Asbestos to join our Building & Constructionteam in our Pittsburgh, PA office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry!
The Senior Analyst - Asbestos is responsible for sample processing, preparation, and analysis, reporting, QA/QC responsibilities, customer communication and support, process improvement, and operation and quality oversight.
What you'll do: * Sample Processing and Preparation * Sample Analysis and Reporting- Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM), Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM), and potentially Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) * Utilize the LIMS * QA/QC activities; ensuring compliance with standards and accrediting bodies * Process improvement * Proficiency testing * Operation and quality oversight * Provide technical support and recommendations for clients and other staff members * Maintain laboratory inventory, efficiency, organization, and cleanliness
What it takes to be successful in this role: * Bachelor's degree required; Geology strongly preferred * Minimum 5 years of environmental/ industrial hygiene laboratory experience required * Leadership experience strongly preferred * Familiarity with AIHA and NVLAP preferred * Strong technical reading and writing skills * Experience using a LIMS * Computer proficiency (especially Adobe and Microsoft programs) required * PLM experience required; McCrone training preferred
