Linux Administrator

Health Sciences Information Technology is seeking a Linux Administrator to support the systems of the Health Sciences schools and research. In this position, you will work with a team that provides computing capabilities and in-depth support for educational and research applications. To accomplish this, you will need a background in Linux server administration and issue resolution along with hardware/software troubleshooting skills.

    • Perform Linux Administration duties.
    • Perform installations and patching of Linux operating systems.
    • Assist customers with the installation and updates of applications.
    • Install the software and troubleshoot software install issues.
    • Monitor systems and preform hardware troubleshooting, tracking, resolution, and routine maintenance and security updates.

Physical Effort

Manual dexterity to manipulate hardware, ability to move equipment, communicate with users, and walk to various campus locations. Must be able to lift and transport computer equipment weighing up to 30 pounds to various campus locations.
