Community Engagement Coordinator

 

The Community Engagement Coordinator 1 position will provide support to the Outreach, Recruitment and Engagement Core of the NIH-NIA funded Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) at the University of Pittsburgh, Department of Neurology. Incumbent will provide support to community initiatives (educational programming on aging, wellness, brain health, and memory problems) in the western PA region. Job duties also conducting initial interviews with community members interested in participation in research projects, serving as navigator for initial assessment and annual follow-ups, collaboration with engagement coordinators in other Pitt research grants, development of new community contact and assist in development of retention strategies to enhance research participation.

Job Summary

 

Assists with overall execution of comprehensive community engagement plans. Engages with the community at events and as a liaison for the University. Assists in developing a community engagement calendar, logistics of community events, and preparing grant proposals. Trains and mentors' staff and others regarding the community program and activities.

Essential Functions

The position was created for the purpose of performing the function or job duty which is community engagement activities.

Physical Effort

Mostly sedentary: mostly sedentary, walking to other departments on Pitt campus, attending community engagement events in the western PA area, lifting boxes of materials given out at engagement events (brochures, pens, handouts), assisting in set up of information tables).
