First Health of the Carolinas Nurse Manager in Pinehurst, North Carolina
- Responsible for management and oversight of a 20-bed, acuity adaptable, critical care unit. The nurse manager has 24-hour accountability for the department; participates in projects and implements and helps to facilitate evidence practice initiatives within the department. Facilities patient/family education and routinely rounds on patients to assure care is reflective of patient’s needs. Reviews safety, quality and engagement data for trends and proactively implements initiatives for the department that ensure future advancement. Ensures orientation of staff according to established organizational and department guidelines. Actively coordinates and participates in recruitment and retention activities in conjunction with the Human Resources Department. Assures staff development on an ongoing basis. Conducts departmental and/or designated team or committee meetings. Takes administrative call for the service. Directs/oversees services and projects as delegated by the Administrative Director. Coaches, counsels, and evaluates employees regarding performance and/or disciplinary matters according to FHC policy and philosophy.Requirements + Current North Carolina RN license or RN multi-state licensure privilege through the Nurse Licensure Compact required. + BSN required + Certification in specialty area required. + Minimum of three (3) years in nursing experience in specialty area. + At least one (1) year previous leadership experience. + Successful completion of generic and departmentâ€specific skills validation and competency testing. Ability to successfully complete Leader Education & Training.Preferred + Masters + Bilingual
