Are you the type of assembler who has an inquiring mind and likes to get to the root of problems? In this role you will focus your assembly skills on diagnosing assembly issues to resolve equipment failures. We’re looking for cross functional, technical assembly experience, accountability to identify, troubleshoot, and solve safety, quality, and functionality problems within assembly processes driven by a commitment to deliver a quality piece of equipment built with the Vermeer brand promise.

What You’ll Do

  1. Plan assembly procedures, following provided job i nstructions and blueprints, and plan the fabrication and alteration of existing parts or processes to complete equipment that has been ordered with unique features that cannot be completed in the normal assembly area as necessary.

  2. Troubleshoot equipment failures, design deviations, incorrectly made parts, and resolve problems within every station on a given assembly line in a timely fashion.

  3. Align components and bolts then fasten them according to torque specifications, install moving parts and test to ensure parts move as intended.

  4. Calculate figures and apply basic mathematical functions including fractions and decimals, algebra, geometry, and statistical quality control.

  5. Support 5S/workplace organization goals of the department and offers suggestions and makes improvements that assist in achieving the department’s performance board metrics.

  6. Train and mentor other assembly team members as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Successful completion of Program: Career Path – Assembler III ( Fundamentals of Electrical Systems, Fundamentals of Can Bus, Hydraulics for Assembly Technicians, Advanced Hoist and Rigging Training. )

  • Pass rate of at least 8 0% on Level III Assembler Test .

  • Minimum two years of assembly experience at Vermeer and/or minimum five years of mechanical experience or technical training.

  • Ability to assess, evaluate, and carry out appropriate action for a given situation.

  • Ability to perform problem solving techniques and utilize root cause analysis.

  • Capability of executing tasks to quality expectations if placed anywhere in an assembly area within a plant.
