Emerson Project Manager in Electronics in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Thailand

Job Summary

As part of the Strategic Sourcing team for the Level Product Company, the Project manager is responsible for driving cost containment, supplier development, and supplier performance initiatives. The Project manager will work closely with the Engineering, Product Management and Procurement departments.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Assess supplier capability, capacity, cost structure and performance against targets.

  • Prepare and evaluate RFQ’s (electrical and mechanical).

  • Negotiate long-term agreements with a focus on cost containment, quality and payment terms improvement.

  • Maintain relationships with preferred suppliers.

  • Resolve supply issues and develop supply chain risk mitigation and contingency plans.

  • Review parts and product with suppliers as necessary to develop and initiate containment and cost reduction opportunities.

  • Coordinate efforts between suppliers, Quality Assurance, Engineering and Product Management departments as necessary to support cost containment, and cost reduction project implementation.

  • Analyze technical data, designs, preliminary specifications, production and delivery capacity, manufacturing limitations and the supplier’s facilities.

  • Deliver results for key performance metrics (Day Payables Outstanding, Net Material Inflation etc).

Who You Are:

You serve as a strategic partner to build, grow, and maintain profitable and long-lasting relationships with key accounts. You actively seek input from pertinent sources to make timely and well-informed decisions. You lay out a thorough schedule and steps for achieving objectives.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 5 years in handling of medium size projects.

  • Requires for travel up to 25% of the time, including day, overnight and internationally. And will be based out of our supplier site (either Ayuthaya or Korat Thailand).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Strong presentation skills – must be comfortable and competent at communicating technical information to senior management and defending position.

  • Effective analytical, planning, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to project a positive and professional image on behalf of the organization.

  • Possess sufficient oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with suppliers and all levels of staff throughout the organization.

  • Collaborate and influence cross functional peer leaders to obtain support for process improvements.

  • Ability to solve problems independently and work with diverse groups.

  • Effective multitasking skills and the ability to take on additional responsibilities as required.

  • Solid financial understanding, risk analysis ability, relationship building and project management.

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret engineering drawings, quality systems requirements and customer specifications.

  • Ability to support a global business operation as required.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment with strategic responsibility for procurement/planning.

  • International purchasing experience desired to develop and evaluate foreign sources.

  • Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project advanced user.

  • Experience with Oracle and Ariba Sourcing Professional or equivalent preferred.
