The Turbofan Project Engineering group has an immediate need for a Lead Project Engineer to support the CFE738 and TFE731 engine lines. This role is for a Project Engineer with the interest, aptitude, and experience associated with the field support of gas turbine engines for turbofan applications.

The successful candidate will manage Project Engineering activities related to the respective engine models. The design authority activities include support of Change Board/IRB, supply chain transition projects, evaluating alternate part applications, and engine conversions. Main tasks will also include drafting, reviewing, coordinating and approving various technical publications, i.e., service bulletins, maintenance manuals, Overhaul Repair Instructions (ORI’s) and other forms of Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) for the respective CFE and TFE products. This role will also advise on supplier substantiation requirements and provide final approval.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, review, and approve various forms of ICA for the CFE TFE product lines.

  • Attend CSB meetings as a key team member in order to support all required documentation for SRD resolution, field actions in support of quality issues, and product improvements for ICA actions.

  • Demonstrates ability to plan and organize multiple technical publication projects.

  • Has superior interpersonal and communications skills required to work directly with internal and external customers.

  • Work with the responsible engineers to establish and maintain budgets, schedules and milestones while achieving technical requirements and goals.

  • Provides significant technical contributions essential to the successful completion of projects.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in oral and written communications.

Has contact with customer and various levels of management to obtain or present technical data.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in design, development, or field support of gas turbine engines

  • Due to ITAR restrictions, candidate must be a US Citizen.

WE VALUE

  • CFE738 and/or TFE731Turbofan experience/knowledge

  • Ability to escalate effectively with leadership and cross-functionally across the organization

  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction

  • Bias toward creative thinking and innovation in product design and approach to everyday work

  • Prior design and development experience on propulsion turboprop, turbofan, turbo-shaft, or APU engines

  • Knowledge of HON structure, organization and process for all phases of IPDS, SRD, and aftermarket support processes.

  • Program/Project Management experience.

  • Cost account management skills in the SAP environment is a plus.

  • Demonstrates a bias for action.

  • Prioritizes time and resources effectively.

  • Is customer focused

  • Good working knowledge of FAR Part 33 engine certification regulations
