About You

As a Project Engineer for New Equipment/ Modernization, you will report to the Project Manager.

You will also coordinate with subcontractors and adjusters working on projects and ensure that Elevator and Escalator installation projects meet the company quality standard, achieve the project's profitability target, and satisfy clients' needs.

As a Project Engineer, your key Responsibilities include

  • Prepare and review the loading forecast, completion schedule, manpower rolling plan

  • Attend kick-off meeting and establish customer channel of communication

  • Review and submit the completion schedule to the customer and support the government tester and internal QC staff

  • Ensure the safety of the work environment and resolve defect/ outstanding list and technical issues

  • Hand over to the client and regularly report project status and highlight potential issues

  • Participate in site activities such as site coordination with subcontractors, builders, and consultant

  • Ensures that the projects are implemented effectively to achieve the profitability target and/or not to exceed the cost limit

  • Coordinate teams of Installation Supervisors and Fitters and Subcontractors, Technical Specialist and NE-Sales on installation issues

  • Implement installation methods released by the Group and supervise the execution of works, materials, assemblies, and documentation

Safety

  • Ensure OTIS safety guidelines are communicated and followed by OTIS staff and sub-contractors

  • Monitor safe working practices, conduct a Fatality Prevention Audit for the project, take corrective actions when issues are found, and follow up until closure

  • Implement Go/ No process. Enforce WWJSSS and Cardinale Rules on the jobsite

  • Advise the NE FOD Mgr and EHS Mgr to issue citations and update EH&S policies, standards, and local regulations regularly to keep the data up to date

Quality

  • Monitor in-progressing installation, inspection, and final check to ensure the lift installation quality is in line with company requirements

  • Collect and analyze inspection checklist (plumbing lines, guard rails, roping, machine room, car completion inspection, before T&C inspection, before handover inspection checklist

  • Monitor and advise subcontractors to conduct corrective action of findings/ comments for a quality installation

What you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline. Fresh Degree Graduates are welcome to apply!

  • Professional candidates with industry and technical experience will be considered for a senior role

  • Ability to understand drawings and other contract documents

  • Have a good understanding of safety procedures, project management, and organizational skills

  • Growth mindset with excellent customer service, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and good communication skills (written/verbal) in English
