Job Description

The Product Quality Chemist will demonstrate analytical chemistry proficiency and project leadership skills to execute on the goals and objectives of the North America Product Quality team. In this role, the successful candidate will utilize experience and expertise to solve problems, lead projects, develop and execute objectives, and contribute to short-term and long-term business goals.

The North America Product Quality team is responsible for ensuring the Quality of Veolia chemical products, driving continuous quality improvement, and addressing and resolving quality incidents. The team provides chemical expertise and technical support for Supply Chain functions by leading initiatives for new supplier quality assessment, manufacturing process improvement, and plant scale-up of new products. Product Quality also supports Technology research projects by providing analytical expertise, designing and

validating QC specifications, developing analytical methods, and providing internal and 3rd party manufacturing capability assessments.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct laboratory experiments and operate analytical equipment, including ICP, Auto-titrators, spectrophotometers, Viscometers, etc. Perform calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation.

  • Collect, record, analyze experiment data, communicate the status of projects, and make recommendations.

  • Lead new supplier raw material quality assessments through documentation reviews and laboratory analyses.

  • Lead and support efforts related to quality incident investigations, re-work of off-spec or expired inventory, manufacturing process improvements, and cost-savings projects.

  • Develop expertise in SAP systems and use SAP proficiently in daily tasks.

  • Support business ISO Quality initiatives by ensuring laboratory compliance and conducting internal ISO audits of various Veolia functions.

  • Collaborate in the development of digital tools and solutions that enhance overall team efficiency, data visibility, predictive modeling, quality monitoring, and process trending.

  • Consistently demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and Safety rules/procedures.

  • Maintain strong professional relationships with Manufacturing, Sourcing, Regulatory, Technology, EHS,

  • Product Management and Commercial teams.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field with applicable laboratory or work experience.

  • Experienced with laboratory bench-chemistry, analytical instrumentation, wet chemistry, and sample preparation.

  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills and ability to manage and drive multiple projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Salary: $75,000
