Temple University Laboratory Assistant in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 24001431 Description Grade: V11 Hourly Rate: $21.16 The Lab Assistant will be working in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine in the Shriners Center.  Responsible for maintaining lab supplies and equipment and will routinely conduct immunostaining and other histological and biochemical lab procedures. Performs animal experiments including surgery, histological and anatomical preparation and analyses. Responsible for general laboratory animal handling, timed mating and genotyping. Acquires will acquire images from various microscopes and also use imaging software to analyze data.

Required Education & Experience: At least one year of related research experience. Required Skills & Abilities: *Demonstrated ability to perform the biochemical and molecular procedures, maintain inventories, order supplies, and generally will participate in the organization of the laboratory *Demonstrated proficiency in immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, electron microscopy and imaging program such as Imaris. *Demonstrated ability to operate all standard laboratory and office equipment including MS Office and Adobe photoshop. *Demonstrated proficiency in working with excel spreadsheets for database. *Demonstrated ability to work independently. *Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. *Ability to quickly learn new techniques. *Excellent technical and analytical skills. *Ability to work in a team environment. *Strong written and oral communication skills.
