IP Legal Administrator (Downtown Pittsburgh)

We are representing a leading law firm that is seeking a highly talented IP Administrative Specialist to join their dynamic team in downtown Pittsburgh, PA. Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative and specialized patent prosecution support to the Patent Prosecution practice group.

• Maintain confidential case records, open new matters in the firm’s document management system, and prepare drafts of documents for filing provisional, non-provisional, and PCT applications.

• Review and manage the docket for U.S. and foreign deadlines, ensuring understanding of deadlines and required actions on each file.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma.

• 3 years’ office/administrative experience in a law firm or professional services organization.

• Experience filing with the USPTO and knowledge of USPTO rules and practices, including docketing, public/private PAIR, US Prosecution, and formality requirements.

• Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.

• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Preferred: 3 years’ patent prosecution experience and knowledge of law firm billing programs (InTapp) and patent docketing software (OP Solutions Pattsy).
