Northwest MI Habitat for Humanity Site Supervisor (Residential Construction) in Petoskey, Michigan

Northwest Michigan Habitat for Humanity is seeking an energetic individual to help meet the growing housing needs in our community. An ideal candidate for this position has at least 5 years of experience leading in the residential construction industry, will enjoy being out in the field and working with their hands, and helping families in our area achieve their dreams of purchasing an affordable home. Past team/crew leadership experience is required.

Most projects are located in Emmet County at this time with the the possibility of future work in Charlevoix County.

  • Stable full time employment; weekends off except an occasional Saturdays/evenings for volunteer events (no more than once per month)

  • Habitat is using mostly modular homes, so much of the work is finishing touches like site and foundation prep, drywall patching, siding, exterior entryways and garages, and occasionally finishing a basement, etc.
  • Seeking an individual who knows their way around a site and has the ability to work with no training and little supervision.
  • Idea candidate will be able to lead a site crew of 3-4.
  • Must have the ability to lead occasional volunteer crews.

Requirements:

  • A builder's license is highly preferred, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months will be considered.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license and ability to travel to locations
  • Experienced: rough carpentry, finish carpentry, siding, and drywall.
  • Willing to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, kneeling and climbing.
  • Maintain OSHA and Habitat standards for a safe and clean worksite
  • Follow direction and maintain company policies & standards
  • Work with individuals of diverse backgrounds
