Intel Firmware Architect in Petah Tikva, Israel

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Firmware architect to join our cloud

networking group, in definition, designing and optimizing of the firmware flows for ours

next generations products. The Ideal candidate will have a strong background in connected

computing devices, networking and security, product level architecture within a proven track

record of successful architecture team

Primary Roles:

· Definition of Firmware and Product-level Requirements for NCCG products, working on multiple project families at the same time.

· Translation of Product-level Requirements to the FW level and the creation of detailed FW architectural documentation explaining them at the FW level.

· Close support for the FW Engineering teams during product definition, implementation testing and debugging

· Reviewing critical code paths and validation plans to ensure that sensitive features are implemented correctly.

· Providing training and education on relevant features for development and validation teams involved into the project.

Qualifications

· Deep understanding of operation system internals both RTOS and Linux, familiarity with RTOS and Linux environments and their limitations

· Understanding and experience with major microprocessor families, security models, memory subsystem, peripherals, etc.

· The ability to understand the documentation of a wide variety of HW blocks, ranging from cryptographic accelerators to packet parsers.

· Ability to negotiate SW/FW requirements to newly developed or modified silicon and boards

· Excellent English skills in both speech and writing, enabling work with a significant range of stakeholders. The ability to write coherent, clear, and implementable requirements

· Understanding networking in the datacenter and edge landscape.

· At least 5 years proven experience in FW, SW or system architecture

· At least 5 years of experience writing FW code in C or in low-level Linux driver development.

· The ability to read, understand and review complicated related FW code written in C.

Advantages:

· Deep understanding and experience in Networking: routing, QoS, Link control, PCIe and CXL

· Hands-on experience in writing code and debugging for ARM, Risc V and or Xtensa CPUs.

· Hands-on experience in system compilation and writing code under Zephyr and Linux.

· Experience working with AMBA/AXI, as well as at least one example of HW NoCs/Fabrics.

· Familiarity with Manageability Protocols (MCTP, NCSI) and their transports.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
