THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services' Norristown State Hospital is searching for committed individuals to join our team. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As part of this role, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of tasks related to food service, food preparation, and maintaining cleanliness in the dietary operation. These tasks will be performed on a rotational basis. Additionally, you will assist the Food Service Supervisor in preparing and serving food for special dietary catered hospital functions. You will also be involved in assembling items for distribution to patient units based on the current patient census, as well as preparing simple menu items like broth and sandwiches. Furthermore, you will be accountable for preparing bagged meals when necessary.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week

  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with 30-minute lunch. You will work a rotating schedule, including every other weekend and holidays as assigned.

  • This position may require overtime as needed.

    Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

  • You must pass a background investigation.

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
