The Team:

The Fertecon Analysis team is part of the S&PG Agribusiness business unit and sits in the Fuels, Chemicals and Resource Solutions business line within the Commodity Insights division. For more than 40 years it has been the leading source of market information and analysis on fertilizers and fertilizer raw materials, producing a range of short- and long-term analysis products to provide data, analysis and insight on the fertilizer market and products. The current 17 person Fertecon Analysis team continues to expand and deepen its products and services.

The Impact:

You will be a key member of the Fertilizers Analysis team. Reporting to the head of short-term fertilizer outlooks, you will provide content and analysis for our short-term outlook reports, subscription products covering a range of fertilizer and input products, and with a focus on low-carbon (green and blue) ammonia. You will work closely together with the head of nitrogen and the nitrogen team to coordinate the work between the short-term and long-term outlooks. Climate change has dictated that the use of carbon-free energy and fuels needs to expand, and ammonia is seen as a critical part in the chain. As such, the role is expected to be a central focus for our work on a crucial emerging market.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work in a team structure to contribute to the production of the low-carbon ammonia short-term outlook and to the other established fertilizer short-term outlooks;

  • Work with all our analysts and current information teams to maintain existing models/databases in the context of all our models/database;

  • Attend international fertilizer conferences and client meetings to discuss market developments and present a professional and positive impression of Fertilizer Analysis team to the industry;

  • Present to conferences, depending on experience;

  • Provide guidance to the sales, marketing and customer success teams with prospects and subscribers;

  • Support the production and development of websites, databases and data platforms.

What We’re Looking For:

Key qualifications include:

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent and/or proven track record of work experience.

  • Commercial experience of the fertilizer (especially ammonia), oil and gas or commodity markets, an advantage but not essential.

  • Strong command of English language, including writing and proofreading, with experience in producing written analytical reports on related fertilizer or commodity markets an advantage.

  • Ability to collate, process and analyse market information on production, prices, costs, consumption and trade in order to produce written analysis.

Key soft skills include:

  • Ability to continually develop a network of contacts within the fertilizer and related sectors.

  • Well-honed secondary research skills and the ability to uncover unique insights and utilise broad and well-developed analytical skills.

  • Superior organizational skills including time management; the ability to plan and deliver products to a defined timetable.

  • A team player who exhibits a strong willingness to support the team and develop themselves.
