Summary You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High Yield Explosive Program and Critical Infrastructure Protection Program Division of MCRD ERR PI SC. Responsibilities You will be the recognized technical expert and advisor to all echelons of management personnel on all phases of the Information, Personnel, Industrial and Physical Security/AT/FP Program for the command. You will serve as the Commanding Officer's advisor and direct representative in matters regarding the eligibility of personnel to access classified information and is assigned to sensitive duties. You will process the granting or denying access to classified material or areas in accordance with applicable regulations. You will adjudicate requests for security access based on "need to know" criteria, and determines that all favorable investigation requirements have been met. You will be responsible for development and management of the Information Security program and enforcement of policies for the protection of classified and sensitive information. You will serve as the Commanding Officer's advisor and direct representative in all matters relating to Physical Security and Antiterrorism/Force Protection Programs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties: 1) Processing the granting or denying access to classified material in accordance with regulations including interviewing employees and/or applicants concerning allegations of a derogatory nature or requesting additional investigation of developing other information; 2) Ensuring that determinations are made on the suitability and security eligibility of individuals for entry in sensitive and non-sensitive positions; 3) Advising management personnel on every phase of the information, personnel, industrial and physical security program for the command; 4) Managing, implementing, and directing the commands physical security and loss prevention program which includes developing and maintain comprehensive physical security instructions; 5) Assessing and evaluating security measures in areas designated for storage of classified matter, materials of highly pilfer able or hazardous nature and those areas vulnerable to threat and sabotage; and 6) Advising and directing in matters regarding the eligibility of personnel to access classified information and is assigned to sensitive duties.
