A Brief Overview

The Dialysis Technician Principal Lead is crucial in maintaining the operational integrity, maintenance, and repair of water treatment facilities, medical equipment, and associated mechanical/electrical systems within the acute dialysis department. This position ensures patient and staff safety by adhering to the highest operational standards. The Principal Lead guides the team toward excellence, offering leadership, direction, training, and education while managing the fiscal responsibilities related to supplies, equipment maintenance, and procurement. Collaboration with the Biomedical Department for capital investments, facility constructions, renovations, or expansions is essential, aligning with organizational goals and directives from Dialysis Nursing Leadership.

What you will do

  • Guarantees adherence to manufacturer guidelines, SHC regulatory compliance, and local, state, and federal regulations for Acute Dialysis services, maintaining treatment integrity and safety.

  • Serves as the dialysis department's consultative authority, advising administrators, directors, and managers to ensure excellence in service delivery.

  • Oversees the budgeting for equipment maintenance, repair, and procurement, ensuring financial stewardship and accountability.

  • Leads monthly reviews of QAPI reports for regulatory compliance and improvement opportunities, ensuring adherence to quality protocols and fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement among staff.

  • Manages service contracts related to Dialysis department maintenance, aligning services with organizational standards and requirements.

  • Guides and supports Patient Care Technicians and promotes a cohesive team environment.

  • Collaborates with the biomedical department to establish and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for all dialysis-related equipment, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, required

Experience Qualifications

  • Four to five (4-5) years of experience in a dialysis program management oversight

  • Three years of biomedical/mechanical experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of dialysis maintenance's mechanical and biomedical aspects to proactively manage and resolve issues.

  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, with adept problem-solving capabilities within a healthcare setting.

  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the evolving needs of the department.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite.

Licenses and Certifications

  • CHT(ABHI) . and

  • CCHT - Cert Clin Hemodialysis Tech . or

  • CBET - Cert Biomedical Equipment Tech .

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $55.80 - $73.92 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
