This Position is for an Instructor of English with a public university work location in University, MS.

Position Description

The Department of English at the University of Mississippi seeks to hire two or more Instructors of English beginning Fall 2024. These are 9-month, full-time temporary positions with full benefits and the possibility of renewal.

The Department invites applications from candidates with teaching and research expertise in any area of literary studies. The position is expected to teach a 3:3 load, including general education lectures and upper-division courses, and to engage in departmental service suitable to an instructor, such as committee participation and advising support. Qualified candidates may also teach courses in creative writing and/or courses supporting interdisciplinary centers and programs, such as African American studies, gender studies, Southern studies, environmental studies, cinema studies, and society and health. Support for conference travel and research is included with the positions.

Minimum Qualifications

Completed Ph.D. in hand by time of employment. Also required are a record or clear promise of strong teaching and a commitment to teaching a diverse student body.
