Under the direction and guidance of the Community Corrections Director and Assistant Community Corrections Director, the Juvenile Probation Officer provides supervision and case management services to juvenile delinquent clientele in an effort to enhance public safety and facilitate client change through evidence-based and restorative practices. This position requires non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends. Duties include, but are not limited to: Conducts predisposition investigations for assigned cases. Manages a caseload of juveniles who are on probation for petty misdemeanors, misdemeanors, gross misdemeanors and/or felony level offences. Places juveniles in facilities (i.e. CD, mental health, correctional, etc.) when appropriate. Collaborates with other agencies to address the needs of clients and to assist them in the development of support systems and programs within the community.
