Position Location:

Pay:

  • $20-$23 per hour

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant - Internal Float (MA-Float) plays a vital role in supporting members and their families in the clinic. This position involves flexible assistance in both front office and direct patient care tasks as needed. Working closely with the care team, the MA-Float ensures efficient and compassionate care delivery, supporting the Primary Care Physician (PCP) and assisting in various patient care activities.

Job Duties:

  • Welcome members upon arrival, ensuring a sense of safety and comfort, guiding them through a smooth check-in process.

  • Coordinate appointments and manage referrals for a diverse care team.

  • Make updates in EMR and request/scan into EMR medical records.

  • Conduct intakes: including vital signs, medical history interviews, examinations, and routine screenings, addressing patient inquiries and concerns.

  • Engage attentively with patients during appointments, promptly reporting any changes in patient condition to primary care physicians, specialists, or other clinical staff.

  • Prioritize patient experience by managing incoming calls, processing patient messages, routing calls to appropriate team members, and relaying essential information for physicians.

  • Administer basic medical procedures such as changing dressings, applying bandages, removing sutures, and performing CPR under physician supervision.

  • Assist with center events as necessary.

  • Provide coverage across different centers as required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.

  • Preferably 6+ months of phlebotomy experience.

  • Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent healthcare vocational training.

  • BLS certification for Healthcare Providers is required.

  • Experience with EMR systems like EClinicalWorks preferred.

  • Bonus points for experience with geriatric patients.

  • Fluency in languages spoken by our people in the communities we serve (where necessary)
