Reporting to the Landscape Services Manager, this working supervisor oversees groundskeepers, grounds maintenance, irrigation, landscaping, minor repairs of equipment, snow and ice removal, trash, quality of work, responds to work orders, generates and responds to emails, and other related duties as assigned. As a working supervisor you will serve as a role model and leader, ensure a safe working environment, help assist in areas of responsibility for other groundskeepers, assist the Landscape Services Manager in their absence, respond to emergency grounds needs, have a physical presence on campus during snow events serving in physical aspects as operating equipment, tools, spreaders, and other snow removal tools. As supervisor you will need to communicate and prioritize expectations for other groundskeepers, perform regular inspections of grounds and facilities, and allow for adjustments for changing priorities. This position will monitor and approve leave usage and time worked, assist with hiring and training, recommendations regarding employment status, discipline, and perform performance evaluations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory or lead experience in the landscape field or 5 years experience as a groundskeeper or similar work.
