The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Government Training Engineering (GTE) Training Systems Operating Systems team in support of the KC-46 Software Sustainment Organic Capability Standup (SSOCS) located in Oklahoma City, OK. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organization.

As Senior Software Engineer of the transition of KC-46 labs from Seattle to Tinker AFB, this position would be responsible for design, integration, and testing of KC-46 Training Software, including vehicle management application software, embedded infrastructure software, and associated displays. The lead architect would be a liaison between the Seattle team where development has been historically and the local Oklahoma City team doing the integration.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Proactively lead, plan, identify and coordinate resources from multi-skilled disciplines and support functions to successfully lead changes through program change processes while maintaining high level of attention to detail and commitment to first time quality.

  • Develop change packages and proposals to ensuring compliance with technical, cost and schedule, and company baseline management requirements.

  • Applies knowledge of the interface and integration constraints for complex systems to identify and analyze hardware, software, product and system impacts to effectively define an integrated change proposal.

  • Analyzes and resolves complex issues with engineering product structure. Architects and implements product identification methodologies for complex products.

  • Tracks and reports data to monitor adherence to regulatory, data configuration and contractual requirements.

  • Ensure consistent application of Configuration and Data management policies, processes and program management best practices, and those process documents are current and accurate.

  • Draft work statement packages against which suppliers or test houses will bid.

  • Lead other systems integration processes and efforts as needed.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 5+ years of software and system integration work experience

  • 5+ years of software development work experience in Linux/Unix

  • 5+ years of experience in C/C++, Python/Perl, and/or Fortran

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with engineering of large-scale systems and overall systems engineering disciplines

  • Experience in the field of simulation, particularly aircrew (flight) simulators and/or trainers

  • Experience developing training/simulation systems

  • Experience in commercial or military aircraft development

  • Experience using Clearcase/ClearQuest

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Travel:

This position may require up to 10% travel.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Summary pay range for Senior Level: $113,900.00 - $154,100.00
