Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Ojai, California

Description We are inviting applications for the role of a Payroll Specialist based in Ojai, California. This role falls within the hospitality industry and offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing payroll-related tasks, including the processing of off cycles and garnishments. The successful candidate will be the sole person handling all payroll responsibilities and will be reporting to the accounting department.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the payroll process for an estimated number of 700-800 employees biweekly.

• Manage off cycle payroll processes on a quarterly basis.

• Handle all payroll-related tasks, including garnishments.

• Work closely with the Human Resources department and the accounting managers to ensure accurate payroll processing.

• Utilize Ceridian Dayforce software for payroll tasks (prior experience not necessary as the software is user-friendly).

• Use Excel for payroll processing and other related tasks.

• Collaborate with HR and the accounting department to streamline the payroll process.

• Ensure all payroll activities adhere to regulatory standards.

• Manage payroll inquiries and resolve any payroll-related issues.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records.

Skills:

• Proficiency in using Excel formulas.

• Familiarity with Ceridian Dayforce software or similar payroll software.

• Experience in managing payroll for over 500 employees.

• Knowledge in handling garnishments. Requirements • Proficiency in using Ceridian payroll software

• Strong practical knowledge of garnishments procedures

• Proficiency in using Excel formulas for payroll calculations

• Relevant educational background in Accounting, Finance or related field

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

• Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills

• Familiarity with hospitality industry standards and regulations

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Good understanding of federal and state regulations related to salaries, wages, taxes, benefits, and other payroll-related matters

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proven analytical abilities, especially in a problem-solving environment.
