Summary: This position is primarily responsible for increasing customer services levels, cycle counting to ensure inventory accuracy, pick ticket processing, issuing of stock items, and delivering both stock and non-stock materials to designated locations throughout the site. These activities will allow the Materials Organization to provide a higher level of customer service to site customers such as maintenance, operations, administration, etc. while allowing craftsmen to spend their time performing their assigned duties rather than coming to the Stores Warehouse to pick up their required parts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: (Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)

  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment at all times.

  • Complete the timely entry of all inventory transactions within the Compass Minerals ERP System (E1) to ensure maintenance of inventory accuracy.

  • Daily material receipts and material issuing of stock and non-stock items.

  • Cycle counting of stock items to improve/maintain inventory accuracy.

  • Provide exceptional customer service levels to internal site customers such as maintenance and operations as well as with all Compass Minerals suppliers.

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing (RAM/MRO) techniques to obtain “best practices standards” within the Materials Organization.

  • Physical presence to ensure inventory maintenance in a secured 24/7 Stores Warehouse.

  • Process pick tickets within E1 as well as manual requests according to company and departmental policies to support maintenance and operations activities within the site.

  • Delivery of requested parts to authorized delivery locations throughout the site.

Deliverables:

  • Support RAM and Best Practice processes currently in place.

  • Maintain a safe work environment

  • Sustain 98% Inventory Accuracy

  • Proper receipt, labeling, and issuing of MRO inventory items

  • Delivery of issued parts to site craftsmen rather than then leaving their projects to pick up materials

  • Customer Service to the other organizations of the site

  • Provide 24/7 Stores Warehouse coverage to ensure accurate inventory control and mitigate inventory shrink.

  • Ensure annual SOX Cycle Count compliance

Education and Experience : High School Diploma or above. Previous ERP/MRO Warehouse experience preferred.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be PC proficient and possess the ability to quickly master skills required to function with expertise in an ERP system. Must be proficient in Windows XP, Word, Excel, etc...
