Tax Manager opportunity that offers great work life balance with a bonus and excellent benefits located in the western suburbs Illinois. The role encompasses reviewing complex business and individual tax returns, researching advanced tax issues, and consulting to provide solutions to clients' tax issues. The role also involves correspondence with clients and governmental agencies and the development of less experienced tax staff.

Responsibilities:

• Review complex business and individual tax returns

• Independently research advanced tax issues

• Effectively communicate research findings and conclusions to clients

• Consult and provide solutions to clients' tax issues

• Correspond with governmental agencies as necessary

• Develop less experienced tax staff members

• Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of IRS tax code rules and regulations

• Work both independently and collaboratively to meet business objectives

• Research and consult on tax issues related to partnership; high net worth, non profit and other closely held businesses.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

• Must have a minimum of five years of experience reviewing complex tax returns

• Proficient in federal tax matters

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is preferred

• Comprehensive knowledge of tax compliance, corporate, partnership, and S-Corp taxation

• Strong analytical skills to review tax returns and determine appropriate tax strategies for clients

• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members

• Outstanding communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and senior management
