Biomedical Technician 2

UHealth/SoLé Mia has an exciting opportunity for a full time Biomedical Technician 2 (H) with a hire date of December, 2024. Be part of the UHealth Difference.

The Biomedical Technician 2 performs a variety of routine tasks, including the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment with minimum supervision.

  • Oversees recall and safety alert programs for medical devices, including medical device hazard investigations, to assure compliance with patient safety goals and applicable requirements.

  • Prioritizes work load effectively and completes all work assignments in a timely manner.

  • Maintains accurate medical equipment documentation.

  • Orders parts and supplies necessary for the servicing of medical equipment.

  • Conducts cross-training in the techniques of testing, calibrating, operating, and troubleshooting biomedical systems, for less experienced technicians.

  • Reports and documents all medical equipment operation errors and safety issues.

  • Maintains medical equipment technical library and makes updates when appropriate.

  • Supervises services provided by outside vendors to ensure quality and scope of services have been met.

  • Inspects incoming equipment for compliance with codes, standards, and manufacturer recommendations.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree in relevant field

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
