The AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS) team shapes the digital transformation necessary for our treatments to positively impact patients’ lives. Join our collaborative and global team as a Business Systems Analyst. In this role you’ll work on the development, maintenance and enhancement of business applications, providing specialized technical or business knowledge to Information Research projects. The position has the responsibility for partnering with Global Regulatory Affairs and other R&D functions, learning their processes, and finding opportunities whereby technology can help drive efficiencies. The position will be instrumental in the development, identification and implementation of system modifications that will improve productivity within the system(s) applicable for the business function that he/she is supporting.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Consulting with Global Regulatory Affairs to understand complex Regulatory Information Management (RIM) business needs to determine how they will affect applications and systems.

  • Understands the role of the system in the big picture and provides ideas and recommendations regarding the evolution of the system(s).

  • Developing detailed business user requirements, system documentation, workflow procedures, and managing projects.

  • Conducts research and analysis into evolutions of the systems supporting business processes.

  • Reviews and routes requested system changes and develops detailed specifications for implementation.

  • Ensures current and accurate system documentation, coordinates and or performs testing of system modifications, both validated and non-validated systems.

  • Helps drive internal BTS processes related to demand/release management and SDLC.

  • Compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Tools and skills you will use in this role:

  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously, and have excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally. Effectively communicate with colleagues/management regarding issues and timelines.

  • Proficient in using the Microsoft Suite (Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

  • Ability to self-manage time and priorities.

Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years experience or Master's degree in Information Systems or related field is required.

  • Must be able to effectively lead and facilitate meeting with customers and technical team members.

  • Must be deliverables focused and detailed oriented.

  • Must exhibit exceptional teamwork skills.

  • Must have a strong customer focus.

Beneficial:

  • Scientific or related background.

  • Experience utilizing analytical and reporting technologies to design and develop interactive reports, dashboards, and data models.

  • Experience managing user stories and processes within JIRA.
