About the Role : Senior Lead Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Lead Cloud Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for providing architectural guidance to our stakeholders, developing and communicating cloud governance and security best practices, and creating and executing automated deployments via Infrastructure as Code.

This role requires a self-driven, motivated candidate who works effectively both independently and collaboratively, and can take a task all the way to completion. The successful candidate will work in multiple domains within Cloud Architecture, Engineering, and DevOps, and must be flexible and able to adapt quickly to new challenges.

The Team : Cloud Platform Engineering is part of S&P Global's Corporate Cloud & Infrastructure group. The team is responsible for developing and executing strategies that align cloud adoption with business goals while ensuring robust architecture and governance to meet compliance and security standards. We focus on cloud engineering excellence and drive agility and innovation through advanced AI and ML cloud capabilities.

Responsibilities and Impact :

  • The role encompasses a wide-ranging engineering scope across major cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, providing consultancy and support to all S&P Global’s business divisions

  • Provide expert guidance on cloud architecture, conduct thorough design reviews, and establish robust best practices to optimize cloud infrastructure efficiency and reliability across the organization.

  • Lead the design and implementation of centralized cloud governance, including organization & account management, Security Control Policies (SCPs) and Identity and Access Management (IAM), ensuring adherence to best practices and standards while enabling scalable and secure cloud operations.

  • Design, implement, and manage public cloud environments utilizing CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.

  • Evaluate, review, and facilitate the seamless onboarding of AI and ML services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and optimizing performance and scalability.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 7+ years of relevant Cloud Engineering and DevOps experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a similar major or certified development program.

  • Expertise working with AWS or Azure cloud technologies with a focus on designing environments that adhere to best practices in terms of security, compliance and operational efficiency.

  • Proven experience in Automation, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles, with a preference for experience in Terraform, Python and GitHub.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying, resolving issues, and raising improvement opportunities.

  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and handle multiple priorities.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including experience speaking to technical and business audiences.
