The Role

Analyze digital design data and utilize these products in conjunction with build plans to create quality and accurate Visual Work Instructions (VWIs). Interprets and adds design elements and portions of systems for VWIs to meet manufacturing and installation requirements. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, Teamcenter, NX, SAP, NGP and TDP. Incorporates required changes as applicable. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

Perform root cause analysis for systemic issues impacting the development and execution of Visual Work Instructions (VWIs) Research, investigate and resolve various issues in all aspects of the development of VWIs that impact the execution of work by the trades. Provide support across programs in regards to BA Standards, process development and improvement, training, and trade support. Review and approve VWI revisions of various commodities to incorporate changes due to PLOGs, eIRs, SLEDs, systemic issues, etc.

Must Have

Associate's Degree in relevant field and 3 Years of relevant experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to an Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

  • NNS Apprentice School graduate

  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate

  • High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience

  • High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience

Nice to Have

  • Extensive knowledge of the Product Model, Visual Work Instructions, Drawings, BOMs, Work Packages and the relationship of all of these products

  • Proficient in the TeamCenter/NX, TCVis, PEO, SAP, SWiMS

  • Experience checking drawings and/or VWIs with a strong need for piping and ventilation backgrounds

  • Ability to perform research, root cause analysis and troubleshooting in all aspects of Visual Work Documents and their supporting products

  • Understanding of waterfront operations and trade requirements for the execution of work utilizing VWIs

  • Possess an elevated knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and Y14.41
