Position Overview

Reporting directly to the NPI department Engineering Manager and collaborating with R&D design new product development (NPD), manufacturing new product introduction (NPI), and factory operations teams, the Test Software Engineer-I will be part of the team responsible for developing test software and database datalogging solutions within the New Product Introduction (NPI) engineering department. This includes design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, cost estimating, and process improvement using LEAN principles.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Developing software design solutions supporting manufacturing testing of electro-optical subsea amplifier products and transmission terminal equipment.

• Integrating new test software with test set instrumentation and prototype products to implement final certification testing solutions

• Using problem solving to troubleshoot, complex interactions between test sw, instrumentation, and electro optic products

• Collecting and analyzing product test data, software generated logs, and providing clear communication of findings to team members

• Collaborating with product developers to hands-on test new products ahead of developing automated testing software

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

BSEE/BSEET/BSCS with one or more years of experience with laboratory or production test equipment measurement techniques

• Solid knowledge of software engineering development environments, electro-optical circuits and electrical circuit board design principles

• Experience with design team environment and electro-optical manufacturing processes preferred

• Experience with Oracle/SAP based ERP systems in support of manufacturing processes preferred

• Ability to interface with multi-discipline engineering team

• Dedication and persistence in driving projects to completion • Innovation to implementing effective solutions which make engineering and business sense.
