A Day in the Life of a Home Delivered Meals Assistant:
As a Home Delivered Meals Assistant at The Arc Wayne in Newark, NY you will be an integral part in assisting the Home Delivered Meals Coordinator with client administration and volunteer oversight. You will also coordinate the processing of HEAP applications and fulfill contract terms as an alternate Certifier for Wayne County.
Provides initial program specific training to volunteers
Communicates with clients and contacts professionally to ensure quality customer service
Conducts eligibility interviews, obtains documentation and assists with HEAP applications
Attends required HEAP training as directed.
Performs other tasks and job duties as assigned.
Who We Are Looking For:
You have outstanding customer service and communication skills. You are extremely well organized, detailed oriented and you are able to meet frequent and changing deadlines.
You have an Associate's Degree OR a High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience examining, investigating or evaluating claims for assistance operating under established criteria, interviewing, collecting and compiling data, account keeping or related work OR a High School Diploma or GED with three years of clerical experience in an office setting.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8 am to 4 pm
