Summary:

Assist with the development and maintenance of geospatial projects supporting operating, reporting, and analysis functions.

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Responsible for administration of GIS data development systems that support bus and rail operations including ATIS and AVL programs, bus scheduling and mapping recording of rail rights of way. Serve as lead analyst of transportation data and integration of geographic data with scheduling and infrastructure data.

• Serves as a project lead developing corporate-wide and business-unit specific GIS applications. Responsible for GIS software administration and maintenance, technical liaison with IS staff, and troubleshooting GIS application and database failures.

• Performs project management of staff and consultant activities regarding development of GIS applications, including applications for data production, integration with other systems and maintenance. Ensures consultants are provided technical support as required.

• Evaluates progress and results and recommends changes and procedures of assigned projects.

• Acts as liaison with other departments, agencies, and consultants in support of internal and external initiatives.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Geography, Transportation, Information Technology, Engineering or related area

• Five (5) years of experience in progressively complex GIS transportation applications.

• Master’s degree in any one of the above-mentioned areas may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.

Knowledge and Skills :

Minimum:

• Proficiency with GIS software and a working understanding of Oracle database administration practices are required. GIS skills including geospatial data analysis, data integration, and map preparation

• Experience with the ESRI Enterprise suite of products including ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Enterprise.

  Preferred:

• Experience with StoryMaps, Field Maps/Survey123, ArcGIS Hub, and/or application design with Experience Builder.
