The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics is looking to hire Technician B to work in the laboratory of Dr. Anum Glasgow. The candidate will be technical support staff for the Principal Investigator and other lab investigators, as needed.
Responsibilities
Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Computationally designing proteins with customized protection factors by combining biophysical models, molecular dynamics simulations, and machine learning-based protein structure prediction methods
- Setting up equipment for experiments.
- Carrying out fully planned experiments.
- Assisting in collection of samples.
- Keeping records of the results of experiments.
- Ordering and maintaining lab supplies.
- Prepare laboratory reagents, chemicals, instruments and maintain equipment.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics, or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Other Requirements
- Must be comfortable working with chemicals.
